Jamtara Wilderness Camp

Situated in the Village of Jamtara,near Pench National Park, Jamtara Wilderness Lodge is a 12 luxury tented property in the heart of rural Pench. Jamtara Wilderness Camp was established to offer an unforgettable experience with sustainability as its guiding principle. It was inspired by an old banyan tree, the neighbourhood, and the wilderness around the area.

Mother Nature has been carefully considered in the design of the entire camp. The main focus is on recycled furniture and sustainable wood. Each piece has a unique history, from their solid wood dining tables constructed from mango tree logs to the stunning blue flooring that was salvaged from government structures and schools in Central India.

Experiences

Days will be spent on wilderness safaris, but you can also visit the village for a unique experience witnessing how the village gathers around enormous pots of boiling sugar, taking turns churning the sugarcane juice into unrefined sugar (jaggery).
You can also simply relax and enjoy the camp idyll. Pench National Park is where Rudyard Kipling got his inspiration to write The Jungle Book. Jamtara has a cosy library, for those moments when you need to lie in and have a good read on a big comfy couch.

Gastronomy

The camp focuses heavily on giving you the best culinary experience too. Their farm-to-table philosophy, which sources the bulk of their ingredients from nearby farms and benefits the local communities, is another step in the direction of sustainability.
Camp chefs ensure variety over a week of different yet delectable menus with their best culinary talents. And the location matters too, so you will be served in a unique spot, either beside the pool, or by the banyan tree or at the beautifully set up terrace.

Comfort

Each luxury tent feels airy and open, giving guests the best view of the outdoors while providing seclusion for their individual rooms via rolling up the tent's front panels. Bathrooms though have been converted into permanent structures even though these are tent-style accommodations.
Jantara is based on the concept of machans which are sleeping arrangements placed on platforms atop trees erected by local farmers to keep an eye out for wild animals damaging crops. It's this unique experience that is brought to guests albeit imbued with comfort and luxury.
