Kanha National Park, located in the central region of Madhya Pradesh, is the largest National Park in central India and has been rated as one of the best parks in Asia.

Since its inception in 1955, the park has actively contributed to the preservation of many endangered species. In 1974, the National Park was designated as a Project Tiger Reserve. The Kanha National Park, which is rich in flora and fauna, is home to one of the rarest species of deer, the Barasingha.

It is famous for the one-of-a-kind Barasingha conservation that saved species that were on the verge of extinction.

Safari at Kanha

Kanha is best explored on a Jeep Safari. Kanha is one of the best places in India to spot tigers, so finding a jeep safari is simple. Safaris are available in two time slots: morning (6 AM to 11 AM) and afternoon (3 PM to 6 PM). Tigers are more likely to be spotted in the morning. Elephant safaris could be thrilling here, and they are usually available in the morning.

One of the largest and most scenic National Parks in India, Kanha is an Ideal habitat for both tigers and their prey. The lush green landscape and ravines of this site inspired author Rudyard Kipling to create his most significant work, The Jungle Book, which is now divided into two sanctuaries, Hallon and Banjar. Kanha National Park's main attraction is the tiger reserve, which is home to the endangered Royal Bengal Tiger.

The reserve is home to tiger, chital, sambar, barasingha, barking deer, chousingha, gaur, langur, wild pig, sloth bear, black buck, hyena, wild boar, rudd mongoose, Indian Fox, Badger, Indian Hare, and Wild Dog, as well as several reptile species.

Bamni Dadar, also known as Sunset Point, is the highest plateau in the national park, offering a tranquil view of the vastness and beauty of the meadows. Many visitors consider this to be the most beautiful place to watch the sunset. Most evening safaris organized by the park end here in order to see the barking deer and Indian bison.
