Palampur: Tea, Art and Dhauladhar Landscapes

The Lodge at Wah

The Lodge at Wah is a small, family-run retreat within the working Wah Tea Estate near Palampur, beneath the Dhauladhar range.

Its cottages draw on traditional Kangra building methods, using local stone, slate and reclaimed timber to sit naturally within the landscape.More homestay than conventional hotel, it brings travellers close to the rhythms of tea cultivation, family hospitality and quiet country life.

As a Palampur tea estate stay for Himachal holidays, the lodge adds depth to a journey through the Kangra Valley rather than serving as a simple overnight stop. It is particularly rewarding for guests interested in provenance, landscape and the people behind Kangra tea.

Why do we love The Lodge at Wah ?

We love The Lodge at Wah for the way one clear story connects the setting, architecture, food and hospitality. Tea is not decorative scenery here; the estate is active, family tended and central to the experience. With only a handful of rooms across three cottages, the atmosphere remains personal, and a family member is usually present to share context.

Reclaimed materials, hand-finished furniture and garden spaces give the lodge individuality without pretence. Within our Accommodation Collection, it suits travellers who value meaningful simplicity over formal luxury. The stay also creates a natural pause between Pragpur’s village heritage and Dharamshala’s Tibetan cultural landscape.

What can I look forward to?

Expect tea gardens beneath the Dhauladhar, warm family hosting and cottages crafted from stone, slate and reclaimed wood. Estate walks, guided tea tasting, garden-led meals and quiet reading corners create an intimate, memorable Palampur stay.
