Amet Haveli

Between 1734 and 1752 A.D., Maharana Jagat Singh Ji II of Udaipur ordered the construction of Amet Haveli. He was the architect of the renowned Jag Niwas, or modernly, Lake Palace. The open ground near to the modern-day Amet Haveli served as the source for all the stone work and raw materials used to create Lake Palace.

Perched perfectly on the shores of Lake Pichola, the Ambrai restaurant offers an unrivalled view of the Jagdish Temple, Gangaur Ghat, City Palace, Lake Palace, and Jag Mandir. There is also a stunning garden palace, called the Badi Mahal, at Amet Haveli, one of only three such. The hotel is 800 metres from Bagore ki Haveli and 1.5 kilometres from the City Palace of Udaipur.

Why do we love Amet Haveli ?

We love Amet Haveli because of its perfect balance of being in the centre (super well connected and walking distance to all sights) but also disconnected just enough for you to let the old world charm and simple elegance seep in: A comfortable and unforgettable fusion of the ancient and modern worlds. And there’s that mind blowing view of Lake Pichola from all the windows.

The food at the Ambrai Restaurant is excellent and the servers are friendly and entertaining. And the lakeside tables are of course highly recommended.

What can I look forward to?

Romantic lakeside hospitality at a fascinating heritage hotel: A truly exquisite experience
