History of Pench National Park<\/h3>\r\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t

Pench was designated a sanctuary in 1977 and a national park in 1983. It was designated as a tiger reserve in 1992 and renamed the Indira Priyadarshini National Park in 2002. The park's natural beauty was mentioned in Ain-i-Akbari, a 16th-century document chronicling Emperor Akbar's reign during the Mughal era. The Pench National Park is also the setting for Rudyard Kipling's The Jungle Book, so it is also known as Mowgli Land.<\/p>\r\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\r\n\r\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>
