India’s first Biosphere Reserve<\/h1>\r\n

Bandipur National Park is widely regarded as one of India’s most beautiful and well-managed national parks. It is 80 kilometers from Mysore on the way to Ooty in Tamil Nadu.<\/h5>\r\n

It is India’s first Biosphere Reserve and is located in the Nilgiris. Bandipur has a long history with tigers. It is one of thirty reserves identified throughout the country to save the tiger and its habitat, as well as one of the last refuges for the endangered Asiatic wild elephant. Aside from the two famous residents, this national park is home to a number of endangered species, including sloth bears, gaurs, Indian rock pythons, jackals, muggers, and four-horned antelopes.
