Addu Atoll (Seenu Atoll)
Addu Atoll – Southern Heritage and Manta Reefs
Addu Atoll blends WWII history with southern reef systems.
Addu Atoll, administratively designated as Seenu Atoll, lies approximately 540 kilometres south of Malé and comprises more than 30 islands, including several resort islands and multiple inhabited communities linked by causeways. Unlike open-ocean atolls, Addu forms a closed lagoon system with defined reef rims and inner channels, creating one of the Maldives’ most geographically distinct southern environments.
