BOB Pidurangala<\/h1>\r\n

This retreat, which the villagers themselves have named “Kurulu Uyana” or Bird Park, is tucked away in 4 acres of forest at the base of the Pidurangala Rock.<\/h5>\r\n

From here, you can drive or walk to see Sigiriya, a 5th century World Heritage Site, and Pidurangala, their massive neighbour, with its historic monastery and rock formations,<\/p>\r\n

Why do we love BOB Pidurangala?<\/h2>\r\nWe love BOB Pidurangala because this hideaway brings the best of the Cultural Triangle of Sri Lanka alongside its set up, cottages and food. It is also ideally located, really, walking distance from the Sigiriya rock and Pidurangala.\r\n\r\nIf you are outdoorsy, bird watching is heavenly here. You can see a variety of birds staying in this property and the staff will happily help you by identifying them. Three bedrooms, a dining area, and a living room can be found in this open format bungalow. Welang, which goes as a single unit, can comfortably sleep up to 7 people and three children. Three individual cottages, \u2019Shama\u2019, Lora\u2019, and \u2018MalKoha\u2019, each with different resident bird names, share a shared living and eating space as well as a small pantry.

The library in Kurulu Uyana will help you to learn about the nearby birds and trees, as well as keep you informed on the most recent controversies surrounding the construction of Sigiriya. The staff is adept in identifying forest plants, birds, and butterflies.

The cook at Kurulu Uyana creates a wide range of Sri Lankan and western foods in keeping with the traditions of our Back of Beyond retreats. The majority of Sri Lankan cuisine has a distinct village flavour, while the western recipes definitely have a \"Sri Lankan touch\" given to them.
