Pedal Sri Lanka 2027 unfolds in two inspiring stages. Stage 1 features nine days of rewarding cycling and community engagement, while Stage 2 continues by coach, exploring Sri Lanka’s wildlife, culture, and coastal landscapes.

Your Pedal Sri Lanka adventure begins in Negombo, a vibrant coastal town located just minutes from Bandaranaike International Airport. Upon arrival at Bandaranaike International Airport, you will be met and transferred to your hotel in Negombo. Those arriving earlier may join an optional familiarisation ride with the cycling guides, offering an opportunity to become comfortable with the bicycles while exploring the relaxed coastal surroundings. Non-riding companions may simply unwind by the beach or enjoy the hotel’s facilities. Continuing north along Sri Lanka’s western coastline, the journey reaches Chilaw, a lively seaside town shaped by the rhythms of the Indian Ocean. Beyond its maritime heritage, Chilaw is surrounded by lagoons, estuaries, and mangrove ecosystems that create an attractive blend of nature and traditional village life. After breakfast, transfer to Dankotuwa and begin your first ride from Thopputota Junction. It also serves as the meeting point where Stage 1 participants depart and Stage 2 guests join the continuing adventure.
The final riding day begins with a memorable 50-kilometre journey from Pasikuda to Kokadicholai via Karadiyanaru. Those seeking additional experiences may choose optional activities including a visit to Kumana National Park or a peaceful excursion through the surrounding lagoons and wetlands.
Leaving the eastern coastline behind, the journey heads inland towards Udawalawe, one of Sri Lanka’s most celebrated wildlife regions. The landscapes gradually transform from coastal plains into open countryside and forest-fringed habitats that support an impressive variety of wildlife. Best known for its elephant population, Udawalawe is also home to rich birdlife and a thriving ecosystem centred around its vast reservoir and national park.
