South Ari Atoll
South Ari Atoll – Whale Sharks and Outer Reefs
South Ari Atoll is defined by year-round whale shark presence and open-ocean reef corridors.
South Ari Atoll, administratively known as Alifu Dhaalu Atoll, lies approximately 100 kilometres southwest of Malé and comprises more than 40 islands, including over 20 resort islands and several inhabited communities. Unlike the enclosed lagoon systems of the central atolls, South Ari Atoll is characterised by exposed outer reef walls and defined marine corridors that support some of the most significant Maldives Marine Life encounters in the country.
