North Ari Atoll
North Ari Atoll – Channels, Mantas and Reef Walls
North Ari Atoll combines seasonal manta movement with structured reef channels.
North Ari Atoll, administratively known as Alifu Alifu Atoll, lies approximately 90 kilometres west of Malé and comprises more than 70 islands, including over 20 resort islands and several inhabited communities. The atoll is characterised by open reef passes, outer reef walls and submerged coral pinnacles (locally known as thilas) that rise from deeper water, forming structured marine corridors distinct from the southern Ari whale shark region.
